At 6:00 PM, a service will be conducted at the funeral home after the viewing. The deceased will be cremated following the funeral. She was born on May 6th, 1936 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the daughter of Waldemar and Rose (Barthuly) Schoener. On February 18, 1956, at Fond du Lac’s Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, she exchanged vows with Leon Sivil. On January 14, 2023, Alida J. Sivil, 86, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, died peacefully and at home in the company of her loved ones.
On July 15, 2012, he died away, three days before she did. At St. Agnes Hospital, Alida held a position as a licensed practical nurse. She never thought of her work as labor and had an unrelenting passion to it. After winning the award for nurse of the year in 2006, Alida felt so content in her work that she kept going until she was 75 years old. At the Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, which she had previously attended, Alida had previously been a member of the “Funeral Four.” During her stay in the region, Alida actively engaged in both the Fond du Lac Oratorio Chorus and the Fond du Lac Community Theatre. She had a quirky attitude and was always a lot of fun to be with.
She was particularly keen about collecting seashells and had a sizable button collection. She regularly delivered presentations on these topics. Over many years, Alida and Leon enjoyed traveling extensively with their beloved friends and neighbors, Al and Dorothy Lemery. Among the survivors are one daughter, Jami, three grandchildren, Johnny Lee (Katie) Manning, Shane (Aleshia), and Heather Guerra, as well as two great-grandchildren, Elliott Manning and Daxton Guerra. All of Alida’s nieces and nephews, especially Linda Marcoe and her husband Bill, as well as a vast number of other family members and friends, were extremely close to her. She died before her husband, her parents, and their daughter Terry. The only child to live through her was she.
