Bobby Dill Obituary, Death – The legendary Bobby Dill. Although his skills on the ice earned him the most notoriety, he was also active in the community and participated in a variety of other pursuits, including coaching and philanthropic endeavors. Everyone who knew him thought highly of him and expressed their admiration for him.
Bobby was a standout player from an early age, beginning his hockey career in elementary school at KCS, continuing on to play junior hockey with the Windsor Royals, moving on to play for the Cape Breton Metros, and eventually attending Acadia University to play college hockey. After that, he played senior semi-pro hockey in Newfoundland and New Brunswick before returning to Windsor to end his playing career with the Windsor Schooners, with whom he won the Atlantic Senior Hockey championship in 1984–1985.
In 2003, he was given honorary status in the Hockey Hall of Fame located at the Birthplace of the Game.
He was a shining star on each and every one of the teams he ever participated on. His father Joe and son Josh are also well-known figures in the history of hockey in Windsor; together, they form a family that exemplifies the city’s long and illustrious association with the sport.
Three different generations of the Dill family have been involved in hockey.
