Chandler Lecroy Obituary, Death – ATHENS, GA – Chandler Louise LeCroy of Toccoa, Georgia, died in following a car accident at the age of 24 on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Chandler Lecroy was pronounced dead at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. She was born on June 8, 1998 in Hall County, Georgia to Larry and Christy Chapman LeCroy and has spent the majority of her life in Toccoa. She graduated from Stephens County High School in 2016.
Chandler was a member of the SCHS Competition Cheer team, which won the school’s first ever Region Championship and finished second at the State Competition. Chandler remained an active and dedicated member of the cheer program after graduation. In 2020, she received her Masters Degree from the University of Georgia. She worked as a Recruiting Analyst for the University of Georgia Athletic Department. Chandler was the biggest Georgia Football fan we knew.
She volunteered so much of her time to help with recruitment, whether it was hosting recruits, making cards to present to families, decorating event rooms with her great vision, or helping plan recruiting days, among other things. Her love for Georgia was evident in everything she planned and created.
She had a way of making each prospect and their families feel like they were her own. Her enthusiasm for the current Georgia football team was not unnoticed. She would devote as many hours a day as she could to the program, assisting in whatever manner she could.
Her task did not end with recruiting. She made it her mission to assist every single entity in the facility, whether it was defensive and offensive support personnel, nourishment, equipment, operations, or any other department that needed assistance. Georgia Football lost a member of their team, and she will be forgotten forever. She belonged to the First Baptist Church of Toccoa and had gone on numerous mission trips with the church over the years.
Survivors include her parents Larry and Christy Chapman LeCroy of Toccoa; brother, Reed LeCroy of Denver, Colorado; sisters Harper and Emerson LeCroy of Toccoa; grandparents, Jackie and Frances LeCroy and Brenda Ayers Chapman of Toccoa; aunts and uncles, Sharon and Greg Thomason and Tammy and Dwayne Singletary of Toccoa and Teresa and Dr. David Sauls of Lavonia, aunt, Yvonne Chapman Everson, uncle, Dwight Chapman; a number of cousins.
