Cheryl Gentry Obituary, Death – She entered this world on June 3, 1959. Emmit Tate and Emma Mae Jonkins were her biological parents. On April 24, 2010, in Muscatine, they exchanged wedding vows. Bill Gentry was her groom.
She made her living by cleaning houses. After working for Metropolitan Water Reclamation, she went on to work for Brockway and Winegard. She enjoyed playing games, watching Animal Planet and horror movies, playing cards, and visiting to casinos. Additionally, fishing was one of Cheryl’s favorite hobbies, and she enjoyed walking her pets.
She was a big fan of Chicago’s many sports teams and was a decent softball player herself. There are a number of people who will miss her, including her husband, Bill Gentry, their two sons, Wardell Brown of Decatur, Illinois, and Daniel Gentry of Burlington, and their grandson, Avvarri Jones of Oakville. Her daughters are Rebecca Brown of Burlington, Iquittia Brown of Phoenix, AZ, Aisha (Jerome Dobbey) Curry of Muscatine, Anna (Red Johnson) Fredericks of Chicago, IL, Melissa Gentry of Burlington, Hillary Gentry of Burlington, and Debbie Gentry of Oelwein, IA. Her granddaughters are Debbie Gentry of Oelwein, IA, and Hillary Gentry of Burlington.
In addition, she has five brothers, including Andrew Burdine of Chicago, Illinois, Robert “Tony” (Patricia) Brown of Chicago, Illinois, Her grandparents, one grandchild, one granddaughter, and two nephews, Emmit Danzy and David Jones, had all passed away prior to her passing. Her parents, stepfather Wayne Bryant, and twin brother Darryl “Dee-Dee” Brown had already passed away.
