Christopher Martinez Obituary, Death – Christopher Adam Martinez, a beloved son and brother, took his last breath on earth and entered the presence of Jesus. He was 34 years old at the time of his death. On September 23, 1986, Christopher Martinez was born in Santa Cruz, California to their parents Joe and Pam Martinez. After receiving his primary education at home in the Santa Cruz, California region, Christopher attended high school in Templeton, California after his family relocated to Atascadero, California. In high school, he was well-known for his talent in basketball as well as his singing and his flair for the theater.
After graduating from high school, he joined Athletes in Action and went on a trip to Africa. He spent three years studying Political Science and drama at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. His majors there were in those respective fields. He ministered in various locations throughout South America while serving with Youth With A Mission, including Pichilemu, Chile, and other cities. In Spain, he earned his accreditation to teach English to speakers of other languages. His passion for adventure led him to Central America, where he investigated the origins of his family in Nicaragua.
Christopher made his home in Santa Cruz, California, for a while, where he worked as an employee at the Seascape Beach Resort in addition to the Margaritaville and Shadowbrook restaurants. His favorite things about Santa Cruz were the beaches and the local culture. Walking along East Cliff Drive and Pleasure Point was one of his favorite things to do. After relocating to Phoenix, Arizona, he found work as a salesperson and recruiter for Renewal by Anderson, where he was highly successful and received numerous honors from the firm for his salesmanship.
He had a huge personality and a quick sense of humor, both of which made him famous. He was an avid sports fan, but Liverpool FC, his favorite soccer team, received an exceptionally strong commitment from him. Christopher’s strong sense of justice inspired him to get involved in politics and volunteer as a mentor at summer camps for children of incarcerated prisoners through Angel Tree’s Camp 180 in Arizona. Both of these activities took place in Arizona.
Christopher is survived by his parents, Joe and Pam Martinez, of Capitola, California; his sister Daniella Indie of Queen Creek, Arizona; his brother Jeffrey Martinez of Santa Cruz, California; his sister Cassidy Martinez of Corralitos, California; and his brother Mark Martinez of Capitola, California; in addition, Christopher is survived by brothers- and sisters-in-law, three nieces, three nephews, and a large number of cousins, aunts, and uncles who will miss him so much.
