Clinton Smith Death, Obituary – Clinton “Clint” Heath Smith, 48, of Deep Run, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, following a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. Clint was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of the Deep Run Original Free Will Baptist Church. He had a tremendous love for the One who would one day become his Lord and Savior. He served as a Deacon in the church and instructed adolescents in Sunday school. In addition to being a prominent member of the North Carolina Magistrates Association, Clint served as the president of the Deep Run Ruritan Club.
Clint was a devoted family man who had great affection for his wife and children. He had an inexhaustible amount of love for both Christy, his wife, and Gabriel, his kid. Clint felt like he was on top of the world the day his son Gabriel was born, and he felt even more proud of his son when he joined the United States Army. When Clint’s mother called, he was a good sport and went antiquing with her. He also assisted Colby whenever she required his assistance. After serving Lenoir County as a Magistrate for the last 24 years, Clint was promoted to the position of Chief Magistrate in the county.
Before that, he was employed in Lenoir County, North Carolina, as a parole and probation officer. He also raised cattle and enjoyed nothing more than getting his hands dirty on the farm while wearing overalls and operating his tractor and backhoe. His father, the W.E. “Billy” Smith, passed away before Clint, who followed in his footsteps. Christy Moody Smith, his devoted wife of 21 years, and their son William “Gabriel” Smith are the only members of his family to survive him. In addition to his mother Donna Heath Smith of Deep Run, he is survived by his sister Colby Smith and her spouse Kristen of Goldsboro, as well as numerous cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and his lifetime buddy John Jarman, for whom he was a carer.
On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening, there will be a visitation held at the Howard-Carter Funeral Home in Kinston. Funeral services will be performed on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 11 am at Deep Run Original Free Will Baptist Church, and the burial will take place in the church cemetery immediately after the services. In Deep Run, at the residence of Donna Smith, the family will host a gathering for friends and family members. His loved ones, friends, and those with whom he worked and socialized will suffer a great loss with his passing. We have suffered a loss, but the heavenly realm has acquired a truly excellent Christian man.
