His sisters were Priscille (Bill) Faulkner of North Bay and Rollande (the late Jim) Murphy of Cobalt. His brother, Dennis “Pat” Hewitt, who passed away before him, was his predecessor. The city of Cobalt is where both Priscille “Bill” Faulkner and Rollande “Jim” Murphy got their start in the music industry. Before he went away, his baby brother Lionel, his parents Arthur and Anna (Sauve) Belanger, and his brother-in-law Norval Hewitt of North Cobalt were the only other members of his own family to have perished away. He was the only member of his immediate family that was still alive.
