Derek Underwood Obituary, Death – Derek Anthony Underwood, age 18, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, unfortunately, died away on December 28, 2008, as a result of injuries incurred in a motor vehicle collision. The cause of death was complications arising from the injuries sustained. The occurrence took place on the 28th of December. Stormie Clark and Jerry Underwood became first-time parents for the first time on May 8, 1990, in the city of St. Joseph, Missouri. They decided to give their son the name Derek. He uprooted his life and went to Council Bluffs ten years ago. Once there, he enrolled in the local Thomas Jefferson High School and remained there until 2008, when he graduated with his diploma.
During the course of the previous year, Derek worked at Rick’s Boatyard in Omaha, Nebraska, in the function of both a waiter and a server there. This was his job at the establishment. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Stormie and Mike Clark of Council Bluffs; his father and stepmother, Jerry and Debra Underwood of St. Joseph; his sisters Alissa and Kassy Underwood, both of Council Bluffs; his stepsisters, Stephanie Collings and Christie Amos of St. Joseph; his maternal grandparents, Rose Hawkins and Johnny and Sally Green; his great-grandmothers, Catherine Rice and Pat Graham; and his aunts and uncles, Dawn Hawk
At the Cutler-O’Neill Funeral Home in Council Bluffs, friends and family of the deceased will have the opportunity to pay their respects to the departed on Tuesday, beginning at four in the evening and continuing until seven in the evening. The funeral service for the deceased person will take place on Friday at one o’clock in the afternoon at the Meierhoffer Funeral Home in St. Joseph. The funeral service will be performed in honor of the deceased person. The Reverend Gene Lee will preside over the proceedings as the event’s master of ceremonies. St. Joseph’s Memorial Park Cemetery, which was also the venue of the service, was where the body was laid to rest after it had been cremated.
