Dorothy McPherson Obituary, Death – According to a press release that was distributed by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, a woman from Mexico who was involved in a snowmobile accident that took place on Saturday just after noon and later that day succumbed to the injuries that she sustained earlier in the day. The accident took place in Maine. Dorothy McPherson, 46, from Mexico was apparently driving alone on her Polaris 850 snowmobile on a snowmobile path close to Andover when she apparently missed a ramp onto the Ellis River Bridge and crashed into a tree.
According to the announcement, she was on the snowmobile path at the time of the accident. She was found by another snowmobiler at approximately 12:20 p.m., and the snowmobiler immediately contacted the emergency number after discovering her. There were no witnesses to the collision. It appeared that McPherson was wearing a helmet on his head. According to IF&W spokesman Mark Latti, McPherson was flown by LifeFlight of Maine to the Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she was pronounced dead as a consequence of the internal injuries she incurred as a result of the incident.
LifeFlight of Maine transported McPherson to the hospital. Before bringing McPherson to the hospital, emergency rescue personnel performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on her. The snowmobile accident that took place is still being looked into by the Maine Warden Service at this time. Assistance was rendered at the location of the incident by the Maine State Police and the Andover Fire & Rescue Department.
