He worked as an assistant chief for the Eden Fire Department, where he was a volunteer firefighter for the previous 51 years. In Eden, Ed was a softball player, and he both played for and coached for Don Wood’s club. Gardening, fishing, and woodworking were all hobbies that Ed liked doing in his spare time. Ed was a devoted family guy who participated in all of his children’s extracurricular activities, particularly their athletics, in which he was renowned as a strong supporter. Everyone who knew him will miss him very much.
Those who are still here to honor his legacy are his wife Judy, his son Tim O’Brien, Kevin (Julie) O’Brien and their children Bergen and Abe, and Kelly (Mark Haensgen) O’Brien, as well as his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Barbara O’Brien, Antoinette (Ray) Timm, Nancy O’Brien, Katsie (Roger) Morgan, and Louise (Bob) Fleischman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a large number of friends, are among those who will miss her. Thomas, and David, as well as their nephews Terry O’Brien and Danny Morgan.
