Elvert Morgan Obituary, Death – Elbert Morgan, 82, He was the son of the late Elbert Morgan and Maggie Webb Morgan, having been born on December 25th, 1933. He received his education in the Pittsfield public schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1951. He has lived in Pittsfield for a very long period. After that, he completed his education at what was then known as North Adams State College and received his degree.
During the Korean War, he did his duty as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and served his nation with pride. On May 15, 1963, he wed his late wife, Betty Livsey Morgan, and became a husband. The 19th of September was the day she passed away. Mr. Morgan worked as a civil engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Works for thirty years before taking early retirement in 1999.
Before that, he had been employed by the General Electric Company, where he worked in the transformer section. Both the Massachusetts Retired State, County, and Municipal Employees Association and the Pittsfield American Legion counted him as a member at one point. He was a standout on the basketball court throughout his time in high school and college, and he was a member of the 1950 CYC Dream Team.
The Pittsfield Basketball Hall of Fame recognized his accomplishments by inducting him that year (2010). He had a lot of fun working on his yard and landscaping it. In addition to that, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and constructing computers. He is survived by his two sons, Robert P. Morgan and his wife Maureen, who live in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and James J. Morgan, who lives in New Lebanon, New York. Jennifer A. Morgan and Lisa I.
Boatman, both of Pittsfield, are my two daughters. Lisa’s husband, Darrell, also lives in Pittsfield. Additionally, he is leaving behind his companion, Adelaide R. Gross of Pittsfield.
