Holland Benfield Death, Obituary – Holland Benfield Death, Obituary – On Sunday, January 15, 2023, Mr. William Herbert “Junior” Roberts, Jr., age 51, passed away at the residence he shared with his family in Meadows of Dan. In Patrick County, on the 10th of May in the year 1971, he came into this world. Patricia Fain, a sister; John Henry Gilley and Almarine Deal Gilley, Mr. Roberts’ maternal grandparents; Elma R. Gilley and Jessie Herbert Roberts, Mr. Roberts’ paternal grandparents; step-grandfather William “Bybo” Gilley; and Mr. Roberts’ pet dog, Hunter, all passed away before Mr. Roberts did. In addition, Mr. Roberts’ step-grandfather was named William “Bybo.” He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed participating in a wide range of outdoor pursuits, including as fishing, hunting, camping, four-wheeling, and riding dirt motorcycles.
His favorite outdoor activity was fishing. In addition to that, he had a deep-seated fascination with muscle cars. As a technician for the Clark Gas & Oil Company, that was the employer he worked for. In addition to being a member of the Fairystone Church, he was also a wonderful friend, grandpa, and husband. He passed away recently. Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Cathy Knowles Roberts, who continues to reside at the family home; two step-children, Brian Knowles and his wife Shannon of Floyd, and David Knowles and his wife Alyssa of Meadows of Dan; four step-grandchildren, Connor, Caitlyn, Barrett, and Harper Knowles; his father and step-mother, William Herbert Roberts, Sr. and Linda Spencer Roberts; his mother, Annie Sue Gilley Overby; a
On Thursday, January 19, 2023, at one o’clock in the afternoon, funeral services for Mr. Roberts will be held at Fairystone Church. Pastor Barry Pilson and Pastor Kriss Foley will be in charge of officiating the ceremony. Following the conclusion of the service, the burial will take place in the cemetery that is associated with the Mountain View United Methodist Church. On Wednesday evening, from 6:00 to 8:00 o’clock, members of the family will be available at the Moody Funeral Home in Stuart to meet and greet guests who have traveled to the location to pay their respects.
