Jack Hayford Obituary, Wife, Valerie Lemire Hayford – Pastor Jack Hayford, TKU, Jack Hayford Ministries church founder and Foursquare Church died at the age of 88, on Sunday, January 8, 2023, in his home in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California. He was also chancellor emeritus at The King’s University.
Jack Williams Hayford was born on June 25, 1934, in Los Angeles, California. His parents were Anita Dolores (née Farnsworth) (1916–1997) and Jack Hayford (1911–1979), who had gotten married on September 28, 1932. Hayford was born with a muscle problem in his neck that got better over time.
Hayford was born in Los Angeles, but he grew up in Oakland, California, and went to high school there.
Hayford moved back to Los Angeles after graduating in 1952 to attend Life Pacific University, which used to be called L.I.F.E. Bible College. He got his first bachelor’s degree in 1956. After working as the National Youth Director for the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, he joined the faculty of L.I.F.E. and became the dean of students there.
During this time, he went to Azusa Pacific University (APU) to start working on his second bachelor’s degree. In 1970, he got his degree.
Hayford married his college sweetheart, Anna Marie Smith, on July 4, 1954.
They had four kids: Rebecca, Jack III, Mark, and Christa. They also had 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Anna was told she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer early in 2016. She died in 2017. Hayford got married again the next year and moved to Los Angeles’s San Fernando Valley. In 2019, he stopped making public appearances.
