Jay Walden Obituary, Death – Jay’s exceptional volunteer work with Nightlight and CorbyRise has brought him a lot of recognition, and a lot of people know who he is. Jay was very hands-on during the entire process, from constructing tents to creating fires and ensuring that everyone in the homeless community had all they required.
We want his wife and our much-loved trustee Stacey, as well as his beautiful children Drew and Ella, as well as the rest of his family and friends, to know that we are thinking of them and sending them our condolences and lots of love. He often attended services at St. Patrick’s Church and was a communicant there. Jay participated in a significant number of UCP events throughout his time as a member of the organization.
There are three members of the Walden family who have survived; one sister, Sally Burrows of Rochester, New York, and two brothers named Ned and Brent Walden, all of North Adams. In addition, he has several nieces and nephews who will miss him. After beginning his career as a Master Mechanic for the United States Government at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard, Jay went on to spend the next 35 years working as a Cost Analyst for the United States Navy and the United States Government before taking early retirement in 1991.
He wed Myrna on January 12, 1999 in San Diego, California. They remained there until 2002, when they made the move to Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, which is where Myrna had spent her childhood.
