Kathleen Booth Obituary, Death – I am writing to inform everyone in Wattlecamp that Kathleen Booth passed away today. Please pass the word along. This makes me feel extremely miserable. On the 19th of August, 2021, she passed away peacefully at home. For 49 years, she was the beloved wife of Guy Doo Der, who passed away; loving mother of Caroline (Samuel) Chan, Lillian (Barry) Lee, David (Mary) Der, Vivian (Benjamin) Han, and Rosalie Der; proud grandmother of Tiffany Chan, Veronica (Zachary) Barnes, Brian Chan, Ian Lee, Tabitha Lee, Bradley Der, Elizabeth Der, Timothy Han, and Karissa Han; and loving sister of Ada (James
Kath’s over two decades of service as a volunteer in the brigade, during which she held the positions of secretary and treasurer, were well recognized both inside the brigade and throughout the community. There is going to be a significant void left by Kath. Our hearts go out to Kath’s husband Peter, as well as the rest of her family and friends. During this difficult time, we ask that you refrain from traveling to visit Peter and his family for a few days.
After attending California Baptist College, Kathleen graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from the institution. She wed Guy in Chicago, and the couple raised their five children in the city. Cooking was Kathleen’s passion, and she enjoyed trying out new dishes. Her other hobby was gardening, and she was an avid reader of the Bible as well as books, periodicals, and newspapers. She was active in both the Women’s Fellowship, a group for women, as well as the church in which she was a member. Kathleen had a strong connection to her big extended family and cherished the time she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and other relatives.
