The majority of you probably know him by a variety of names, but I encouraged him to follow God’s calling and become Pastor Kenny Brown. A Great Man of God who was personally selected by God to teach the world that when you are chosen by God, He has a very special manner of doing it. Our connection was profound in our roles as your spiritual leader and mentor. Because God revealed to me that you had something within you that has the potential to alter the world, I have never given up on you.
I am always able to have a sense of when something is about to take place that will alter the trajectory of the culture. You had an immeasurable impact on people’s lives with the unique abilities and qualities that you possess. There were several late-night conversations and heated debates that you and I used to have. Pastor, I am aware that you are going to be harsh with me since I have been missing in action (MIA), but I require your assistance because God has given me a vision. The three B’s (the Bible, books, and basketball) and I are working on getting back on track so that I can go after it.
No matter how I was feeling or what I was going through, I never gave up on you or the greatness that was placed within of you, King, even though we had a very difficult battle during our faith walk. I remained by your side the entire time. U told me, Man, and I watch u very closely; whatever u ever told me u were going to do for the youth, the elderly, and the hood over the past 25 years, u accomplished it. I watch u attentively. Kenny was our equivalent of 2Pac; he used to brag, “I’m a profit just like Pac,” and in all honesty, he was. It makes no difference how much he was drinking; the Lord spoke to him in that moment.
You are going to get 10,000 hugs, kisses, and assurances that he loves you, but you are not going to leave without hearing those three little words. We all have demons and fights that we are battling, some of which are more evident than others; nonetheless, what you should focus on is the person’s pure soul and spirit. Your devotion to God was unparalleled, Brown, and you never wavered in your commitment to the mantra “S.H.A.N.O.B.Y. God Got Me!” at any time. You deserve everything we spoke about for years, so please put in a good word for me with the boss like you always did. Much love.
