Klara Wowerat Obituary, Death – On Monday, January 16, 2023, beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing until 12:00 PM, there will be a visitation held at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The visitation will last until 12:00 PM. After the visitation concludes on Monday, the funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Following the traditional services, the cremation of the remains will take place. Klara Wowerat, who was 84 years old and from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, passed away on January 9, 2023. She went to be with her Lord and Savior in their heavenly home. Her parents, Wilhelm and Wanda Bilau, gave her birth on May 5th, 1938 in Dombrowa, Wolynien.
Her name at birth was Wanda Bilau. After completing her nursing training in Germany, Klara met her future husband, Erich Wowerat, while she was working in Medicine Hat, Alberta, in the country of Canada. After getting married on September 28, 1963 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, the couple quickly after that moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where they bought a bakery. The wedding took place in Medicine Hat. Three years after relocating to Fond du Lac and establishing the bakery there, the couple finally took their well-deserved retirement in January of 2000, after having operated Eric’s Pastry Shop for the previous 35 years. Before Erich’s death on December 14, 2017, they had been married for 54 years and celebrated that milestone.
During the thirteen years that Klara worked as a hostess at Schreiner’s, many of the restaurant’s customers came to think of her as their go-to recommendation. Some of Klara’s favorite things to do included gardening, painting, and spending time with other people. Her time spent with Erich and the kids engaging in this activity was among her favorites. Klara was well liked by her classmates, and she had a sizable group of friends that she could count on for support. In addition to this, she was well-known for the unshakeable faith she had in God.
She is survived by her children, Diana (Willard) Jewson of Janesville, Friedericke Wowerat of Milwaukee, and Erhardt (Ellie) Wowerat of Oakfield; four grandchildren, James (Laura) Jewson, Paul Jewson, Miana Marshell, and Amara Marshell; one sister, Erika Brachaczek of Germany; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erhardt Wowerat. Her husband, Erhardt Wowerat, passed away before her. / She was predeceased by her husband. Her husband, her parents, five of her sisters, and one of her brothers all passed away prior to her own passing. She was the only member of her family to have lived to an old age.
