Laurie Sultana Death, Obituary – We are writing to convey to you our deepest condolences on the loss of Laurie Sultana, who served as a beloved past President of our organization and was a Life Member. It is with a heavy heart that we have to break this information to you, but it is necessary. He was an indispensable component of the group that laid the groundwork for the beginning of our club and was responsible for building its basis. When we moved into our new club room at the former Monash Reserve, he took over as the head electrician and was responsible for supervising the installation of all of the building’s electrical components.
Prior to that, he was in charge of maintaining the building’s electrical system. During the years 1984 to 1991, he presided over our club as President, and during that time, he spent a great amount of his time and effort to nurturing the club’s development into what it is today. Our club is what it is now in large part because of what he did. During the colder months, he would make an endless supply of hot Milo for the younger players to drink after they had finished their workouts.
He would stay at the club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings to make sure that everything was operating as it should, and he would do this while making sure that everything was running as it should. Every Saturday, you could find him in the canteen working the whole shift with his wife Anne and daughter Mary, and then the next day, he would repeat the process for the senior citizens. You could find him there with his wife Anne and daughter Mary. In the year 1992, in appreciation of his whole eight years of service as President of the organization, he was presented with the honor of life membership in the organization.
This was done in acknowledgment of his service. We are grateful for the time and effort that you have contributed to our sport as well as our club, and we would like to express our appreciation in this regard.
God rest your soul
