Louis Reid Obituary, Death – While we are saddened to inform you of the demise of a local basketball legend, we want to use this opportunity to extend our deepest condolences to you and your family. H. Louis Reid, who was fondly known by his friends and family as “Louie, Big Lou, Lou Lou, or Lou Dog,” passed away suddenly yesterday. His friends and family called him “Louie.” He was also known by the nicknames “Louie” and “Lou Lou.” Despite the fact that Louie was a contributor to the Hogs in their earlier days, maybe what will be best remembered about him is the work that he did with the Broadfording high school boys’ basketball team.
He was a coach, but more significantly, he was a mentor, a friend, and a father figure to a significant number of individuals. A large number of people worked under his tutelage. As a coach, he was admired and respected by many individuals. He coached the team for a number of years during his time with the organization. Everyone who had the good fortune to call him a friend will feel a profound sense of loss at the news of his passing. The loss of him has left a void in all of our hearts, but his memory will be an important part of the legacy that our little town carries on in the years to come. We are keeping his family and all of the players whose lives he was able to positively influence in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
We are also keeping him in our thoughts and prayers. If you knew Louie, we would appreciate it if you would take a moment to share in the comments area one of your most cherished memories of him. This will allow us all to remember him together. Please take the time to read this page in order to get familiar with Louie, especially if you were previously unfamiliar with him.
