Madison Mogen Death, Obituary – Madison Mogen was a high school senior who had recently turned 21 years old at the time of her murder on November 13, 2022 in the city of Moscow, Idaho. Her father, Ben Mogen, spoke about his daughter during a memorial service that was conducted in December for all four students. He said, “She meant the world to us.” Mogen, who was better known by her nickname Maddie, was one of four students from the University of Idaho who were killed a few days before Thanksgiving. The other three students’ names have not been released at this time.
Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, and Xana Kernodle are all 21 years old and originate from the towns of Conway, Washington and Rathdrum, Idaho, respectively. Ethan Chapin is 20 years old. Bryan Kohberger, a graduate student at Washington State University, was arrested and charged in connection with their murders when the police found their DNA on a knife sheath that Kohberger had allegedly used. Mogen, who hailed from the city of Coeur d’Alene in the state of Idaho, was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and worked at the Mad Greek restaurant with Kernodle. Mogen’s area of concentration was marketing. An obituary for Mogen was written and submitted to the Coeur d’Alene Press by her family members.
The following is what they had to say about her: “To say that Maddie is loved by everyone would be grossly understating the situation. It was general known among those who knew Maddie that she possessed the ability to make other people smile and laugh as a result of her offbeat and hilarious sense of humor, and it was also common knowledge that she should never be permitted to be hungry.” By organizing a social media campaign for the restaurant, Mogen was putting her knowledge and experience in marketing to good use for the business. Jessie Frost, a family friend, mentioned to The Idaho Statesman that she liked the color pink and that she intended to move to Boise after graduating from high school this spring. Jessie also mentioned that she had these aspirations.
Both of their childhoods were spent in Northern Idaho, and at that time, she and Goncalves were inseparable, lifelong best friends. At the burial for Goncalves’ sister, Goncalves’ mother spoke and declared, “They were sisters; she was one of ours.” Goncalves’ sister had passed away. Since Mogen was in the sixth grade, when Mogen’s father says they became inseparable, the two of them have been together constantly. Ben Mogen is reported to have said something along the lines of, “They were actual sisters, and as a result, both of our families became bigger and better.” At the burial ceremony, Maddie Mogen’s boyfriend, Jake Schriger, also shared some words with the audience. According to what he said, the pair had been together for a period of two years. “Maddie was my best companion. She was the first person I talked to every morning when I got out of bed, and she was the last person I talked to every night before I went to sleep “Schriger added.
