Madison Staker Obituary, Death – The Ogden Police Department was able to positively identify the victim of a homicide that took place on Sunday as 24-year-old Madison Staker. On January 8, according to the police, Staker was found shot to death inside a residence located in the 2200 block of South Jefferson Avenue. It is said that she passed away prior to the arrival of emergency personnel at the scene.
The suspect, identified as Garrett Gorsch, age 21, was taken into custody and held without bond at the Weber County Correctional Facility. He was charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession or use of a controlled substance, and possession or use of drug paraphernalia. All of these charges were stacked against him.
In the affidavit, it is stated that Gorsch contacted 911 at approximately 5:55 in the morning and reported that he had shot Staker because she refused to leave the property. According to the statements that witnesses allegedly gave to the police, Gorsch and Staker had been bickering for the entirety of the previous night, and Gorsch had threatened to physically harm Staker.
