Marie Sauer Obituary, Death – Marie was taken from this world on the Thursday, December 22, 2022. Marie Guelig’s parents, Edgar and Margaret (Horsch) Guelig, welcomed her into the world on July 2, 1929. Her name at birth was Marie. Her wedding to Raymond L. Sauer took place at the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa, Wisconsin, on July 27, 1948. The United States of America played host to the event. Marie and her husband managed the Sauer’s Meat Market and Locker Service in Lomira, which they had jointly owned since 1955 and begun operating in 1955 and continued to do so until 1985.
Marie has been donating her time as a volunteer at the American Red Cross Blood Bank for the better part of the last half century. She was also a member of the Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Auxiliary Post 347 in Lomira, which was her place of residence at the time. During the time that she was stationed there, she worked as the Post Secretary. She was a dedicated member of the Lomira neighborhood and devoted her time to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church as a volunteer. Marie was an avid reader who also enjoyed going on walks, seeing new areas, and watching birds. She was a very curious person. She felt a love for her family that was both profound and unending.
Those who were able to carry on her legacy include her two daughters, Donna Patrie and her husband Charles of Avon Park, Florida, and Sandra of Visalia, California; her two sons, Richard Sauer and his wife Mary of North Fond du Lac, and Gerald of Malone, Wisconsin; as well as her five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Sauer. In addition, she left behind one of her great-great-grandchildren. Before Marie went away, both of her parents, her husband Raymond, all five of her brothers and sisters, four of her sisters-in-law, and all six of her brothers-in-law all died. Marie had requested that there be no public visitation or memorial ceremony done in her honor, thus those plans have been honored.
