Marilyn Maher Obituary, Death – Marilyn Virginia Maher, formerly known as Olsen, died away on January 2, 2023 in Henderson, Nevada. She was accompanied by her loved ones at the time of her passing. She was once known by her maiden name, Marilyn Olsen. She has 71 years under her belt. The holidays were celebrated with her family in Nevada, the state in which she and her husband, Robert P. Maher, Sr., had planned to retire when all of their children had reached adulthood and moved out on their own. The holidays were celebrated in Carson City. The ritual that became known as “Maher Christmas” was one in which the family gathered together to celebrate throughout the Christmas holiday season, and they did so with a great lot of enthusiasm and anticipation each and every year.
The gathering that took place this year was particularly noteworthy due to the fact that it was the first time in a number of years that people from all throughout the country were able to come together from their respective parts of the country. Because of this, the event will be remembered for a very long time. Marilyn spent her whole childhood in Northlake, Illinois, which is also the location of her present house and where she currently resides. In 1977, not long after Marilyn and Robert tied the knot, they uprooted their newly formed family and relocated to Winona Lake, Indiana, with the aim of settling down there for the entirety of the next year’s calendar. After making the decision to relocate to Freeport, Illinois, the family decided to make that town their permanent home for the remainder of their children’s time spent in high school there.
After settling down in the heart of Chicago for a good number of years, the couple ultimately came to the conclusion that it would be more convenient for them to divide their time between Oak Brook, Illinois, and Middleton, Wisconsin. Since we first came to an agreement over this matter, the time has passed without interruption. For the better part of 45 years, Marilyn was the loving wife of Robert, Sr. She was the devoted mother of Jennifer (Bob) Linton of Chicago and Robert Maher, Jr. (Courtney) Maher of Middleton. Both of her children are deceased. In addition to that, she was the loving stepmother to Kimberly Fields, who resides in Dallas, Texas, and Jennie Caris, who resides in La Selva Beach, California. Abby and Emma Hornberger, Aidyn, Hadley, Lennon, and Beckett were the grandchildren of Marilyn, who was a proud grandma.
Marilyn was a kind and devoted friend to a huge number of people, the most noteworthy of whom was Kathy (Ed) Schultz, who fulfilled for her the role that a sister would in a family by providing the same type of support and companionship as a sister would. Marilyn Maher
