Mary Taylor Obituary, Death – During the pandemic, Mary ran around Silsden every day for 100 days while wearing different costumes. This made national news. I know that Mary really cared about and loved her town of Silsden. Mary’s enthusiasm, energy, and dedication to Silsden helped lift people’s spirits and put smiles on everyone’s faces, especially during the hard days of the pandemic. She also raised thousands of pounds for Airedale Hospital. Mary was chosen as one of Silsden’s UnSung Heroes back in July 2020.
During this very hard time, my thoughts are with Mary’s family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her.
As a family, what we think is right and what we want to happen, as well as what I’m sure her friends and even acquaintances would want, is for her to come home. We can’t stand to think that Mary would be all alone in a foreign country with no one to show her love and care in person. I think everyone who knew her would agree that she was the heart and soul of joy, laughter, and happiness.
She was a socialite and the center of our community. Her desire for happiness and the lengths she went to make others happy and smile were like nothing I have ever seen or am likely to see again, which is why we want to bring her home. This is where you all come in, and what I hope will happen is that souls who can help our mission to bring Mary back will join together.
