Michael Hennebery Obituary, Death – Michael was an excellent example of what a true gentleman should be and possessed a wonderful personality. Michael was a fantastic person to have living next door to you throughout the years. Over the course of thirty five years, we fought side by side on Ashe Street. Michael’s shop on Ashe Street first opened its doors in the month of December 1965. It started off as a grocery store when we first opened. Michael held the position of manager at Lipton’s Grocers until he ventured out on his own and opened his own company. Since that time, Michael’s has developed a reputation as a popular establishment.
All of those who had the privilege of knowing him will suffer a deep sense of loss. Our hearts go out to every member of his family, as well as to all of his friends and patrons from throughout the years. Please accept our sympathies. The kind spirit that once inhabited his body should now be at rest. R.I.P Mike. Michael attended Christ the King Church and was a lifelong member of Wakefield Rotary, where he eventually became a Paul Harris Fellow. Michael also was involved in the community by serving as a Paul Harris Fellow. In addition to that, he was an active member of the Elks and the American Legion.
He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II and was successful in his duties. He was an avid participant in the sports of golfing, bowling, and archery in addition to being a huge supporter of the Boston Red Sox. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Lynn Northup and her husband William, his granddaughter Megan Ready, his grandson Ian Northup and his wife Jessie, his great-grandson Kaden Ready, three step-children, Susan DeVoe, Brian Tennien and his wife Karen, and Jane Chadwick and her husband Michael, a brother, James Michael and his wife Betty, a sister, Mary Wolf, and a great-grandson Kaden Ready.
