Nevins Zoch Obituary, Death – On the morning of January 21, at 3:25 a.m., deputies from the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office were alerted to a collision that had taken place in the Township of Taycheedah on Golf Course Drive, which is situated to the east of Taft Road. The incident had occurred in the middle of the road. When the police came, they found a boy from Eldorado who was 16 years old and had been dead in the front passenger seat. The boy had been there for some time. In order to provide medical care for the driver, who was also 16 years old and originated from the Mount Cavalry region, a helicopter transported the driver to the ThedaCare Regional Medical Center.
A passenger who was 16 years old and originally from Fond du Lac was sitting in the back seat of the vehicle. She was sent to SSM Health – St. Agnes via ambulance because the severity of her injuries did not constitute a threat to her life. Before it went off the road and into the woods, the lone vehicle that was involved in the accident was going westbound on Golf Course Drive at a rapid speed before it crashed. When the driver lost control of the vehicle, it immediately veered off the road, struck with a tree, and then went down into a ditch. The authorities believe that the accident was caused by a mix of drinking and driving at a speed that was not appropriate for the conditions.
The three teens went to three different high schools during their secondary education. The Laconia High School campus at Rosendale, which was not one of them, was located in Rosendale. The town of Font du Lac is home to two prestigious educational institutions: Fond du Lac High School and St. Mary’s Springs Academy. Because it is required to inform their families first, the names of the teens have not been made public as of yet. The Sheriff’s Office has notified all three schools about the issue in order to ensure that the faculty and staff are prepared to support the students in any way that they may require it.
