Normand Lussier Obituary, Death – After a gallant fight with cancer, Normand Lussier, 68, of Millbury, died away at home on Friday, January 20, 2023, surrounded by those he loved. On January 26th, there will be visiting hours from 9 am to noon, followed by a prayer service at noon at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, located at 370 Plantation St. Private burial will take place. One of Joseph “Oscar” and Cecile (Elie) Lussier’s five children, Norm was born in Worcester. He was reared in Millbury, and on June 7, 1975, he wed Debra Miller, the “love of his life.” After that, they started a 47-year relationship marked by religion, family, and dedication, 45 of which were spent raising their family in Millbury.
Normand retired in 2009 after serving as a prison officer for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections. Then he and Deb launched a little lawn care company, which they ran for many years. Normand loved Harley Davidson motorcycles. He cherished his time spent riding to Laconia during Bike Week, spending time with his family in Hampton, taking long beach walks, fixing mowers with the captain, exercising at the gym, watching hockey playoffs on “the deck,” taking Sunday “Harley boat” rides on Lake Singletary, spending countless evenings by the fire pit, and taking care of his immaculately kept yard.
Normand took tremendous pleasure and satisfaction in going to and seeing his grandchildren’s sporting events and being with them often. You may find him hanging out with his friends at DeOrsey’s Garage if he wasn’t at home or busy with his family. His beloved wife, Debra, his beloved children, Jennifer L. Bohanan of Millbury and her partner John, Norman Lussier of Worcester and his partner Julisa, his cherished grandchildren, Ariana Lussier, Cody Bohanan, and Taylor Bohanan, as well as his extended grandchildren, Zach, Alli, Lily, Cara, and Matty, his former son-in-law, Matt Bohanan, two brothers, Paul and Denis Lussier of Maine, three sisters, Claire
