Onna Miklovic Obituary, Death – Onna Lee Miklovic, who resided in Caro and had reached the age of 84 years, passed away in comfort on Friday, January 20, 2023, with her family members surrounding her. Onna Lee’s birthday is April 11th, and she was born in Caro in 1938. Albert and Suvilla (McAlpine) Faust, both of whom passed away before their daughter was born, were her parents. She was born in Caro, where she also spent her childhood and ultimately earned her high school diploma in 1956. On October 21, 1961, she and Bernard Miklovic exchanged vows in front of family and friends at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Gagetown. After being married, they remained in Saginaw for a while before moving to Caro. Michael was the couple’s first child and was born on July 27, 1965.
Onna Lee was an employee of Massoll’s Sales in Caro, which was a Dodge dealership, from the years 1959 to 1972. After that, she went to work for her sister Idena and her brother-in-law Bill Rodd at their Caro travel agency, which was called Thumb Travel Agency. She remained employed there until a few years ago, when she decided to retire. Her passion for adventure led her to organize and direct a number of tours during the course of her career. In addition to that, she enjoyed painting with watercolors and painting on kiln-fired china and porcelain. The Galloway Porcelain Art Club counted her as a member at one point. She spent a considerable amount of time participating in the Scarlet Sisters, which was the name of the regional Red Hat Group. She served as the head of the Women’s Council at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro, and she also attended and presided over a number of sessions held by the National Council of Catholic Women on behalf of the church.
She is survived by her son Michael A. Miklovic and his husband, Dr. Tomas L. Griebling, who live in Olathe, Kansas; her sister, Idena Rodd, who resides in Caro; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Faust, who resides in Midland; her brother-in-law, Roy Wightman, who resides in Caro; and a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Berniece Faust and Norma Wightman; her brother, Elmer Faust; her brother-in-law, Bill Rodd; a nephew, Ed Faust; and a niece, Sue Abbe. Her parents and husband were both deceased at the time of her passing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Sacred Heart Church in Caro, which is part of the St. Christopher Parish, on the morning of Friday, January 27, 2023, at 11 o’clock. On Thursday, the family will be present at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., and on Friday, the day of the ceremony, the family will be present at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Following the conclusion of the worship services, there will be a luncheon held in the church’s parish hall. Private ceremonies will be held at the gravesite when the time comes, and he will be laid to rest at the Elkland Township Cemetery in Cass City at a later date.
