Paul Caffrey Obituary, Death – I’m sorry to inform you that Paul Caffrey passed away yesterday without any prior warning.
He was a wonderful Father, Grandfather, Bandmate, and Friend, and he injected so much merriment and mischief into our lives that they will never be the same again because of him.
I pray that wherever you are now, Dad, you are amused, confused, and having a good time dancing. May you rest in peace.
Paul was a kind, caring, and fun-loving man who was known for being the life of the party no matter where he went. Paul would pick on everyone he came in contact with and give them a humorous name, such as Yatsko, Tornado (Emily), or Sarge. His knowledge of World War II history was extensive, and he had spent a lot of time reading about his hero, General George S. Patton.
Paul’s favorite things in the world were to spend time with his cherished granddaughters, to read, to hang out with his lifelong pals Ed, Jim, and Bill, and to play the lottery. The 44 months that Paul spent serving in the United States Army in Germany while it was occupied were a source of great pride for him. In the past, he had served as the Commander of the VFW Post #1449 in Endicott, New York, and he had been a member of the American Legion for more than half a century.
