Robert E. Buchanan Jr. Obituary, Death – Robert E. “Taz” Buchanan Jr. passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at his residence in Corning, New York, at the age of 53. He was the son of Robert E. Buchanan Sr. and Thelma Wilson and was born on October 13, 1969 in Corning, New York. He passed away with his family by his side. As a cherished member of the family in the roles of husband, father, and grandfather, he was regarded with affection.
Bob’s day job was as an emergency medical technician for the American Medical Response Service, where he was employed full-time Bob cherished every aspect of his career as a firefighter, and he dedicated his entire life to the fire and emergency services. He had previously served as a member of the Bath Volunteer Fire Department, Gang Mills Volunteer Fire Department, North Corning Volunteer Fire Department, and as the First Assistant Chief of the Painted Post Volunteer Fire Department. In addition, he had previously served as the Third Assistant Chief of the Avoca Volunteer Fire Department.
He loved going on trips to Arkansas for vacation, as well as going camping and spending time with his grandchildren driving about in golf carts. Paula Buchanan, his wife of 23 years, his children Samantha (Brian) Stanton, Robert Buchanan (Tammy Capron), Anthony Garcia, Shane Wood, and Christopher Wood (Vickie Wray); his brother Howard Buchanan; his sister Barbara (Sean) Deats; his grandchildren Carlee, Elliott, Gio, Nevaeh, Lilly and Ayden; Robert Jr., Aubrey, Emily, Hunter, Mason, Chevy, Paxton, His mother and father had already passed away before he was born.
On Friday, January 13, 2023, the family will host a visitation at the Acly-Stover Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to pay their respects to friends and family. After the viewing, funeral services will take place at one o’clock in the afternoon. Fairview Cemetery in Painted Post, New York, will serve as the location for the interment and committal prayers following the service.
