Robert Gentile Obituary, Death – Robert L. Gentile, 74 years old, had been a resident of Millbury before. He went away suddenly during his sleep on January 17, 2023. The public is invited to pay their respects to the deceased at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, located at 370 Plantation Street, from 8:30 am until 10:30 am on Monday, January 23, 2019. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Robert is survived by his wife, Janet (Gregg) Gentile, six children, including Robert L. Gentile, (Ann Marie) of Northbridge, Brenda Gentile of Worcester, Brian Gentile, (Adrianne), Sherry Lavimodiere (Michael), Charles Billington (Shannon) all of Millbury, and Philip Billington of Gill, Ma;
Also, three sisters, including Martha “Marty” Gentile, Judith Gentile of Auburn, and Carol Guyette of Du He was preceded in death by a granddaughter named Erica Lara and a brother-in-law named Paul Rix. Robert Gentile was one of four children that were born to Louis and Claudia (St George) Gentile. Robert Gentile was born in Worcester.
Robert received his diploma from the Carpentry program offered by Worcester Boys Trade. Robert grew up in Worcester. After that, he began a career in the construction industry, working on both major and small building and renovation projects. Prior to his retirement, Robert was the owner and operator of Millbury/Sutton Home Improvement. Prior to it, he held the position of supervisor at the Reed, Rico firm. Robert’s life was filled with many different things that brought him joy, including his family, his business, and playing golf.
Robert’s favorite pastime, when he wasn’t working or relaxing at home, was golfing. He played golf with great fervor on any and all available courses. His particular likes are Poland Springs, Pleasant Valley, Cyprian Keyes, and a whole lot of other places. Robert and his wife Janet had a lot of fun going fishing, country line dancing, and visiting the beaches of Fort Myers, Florida together.
