Robert Gessner Death, Obituary – On the evening of Friday, January 20, 2023, Robert Gessner passed away unexpectedly at his home in North Brunswick. He had been there since earlier that day. He was 85. His first residence was in North Plainfield, and both of his parents, Lawrence Gessner and Mabel (Karst) Gessner, had passed away prior to the birth of their son. In 1965, he uprooted his life and settled in North Brunswick. His high school certificate came from Plainfield High School, and he retired from GAF Corporation in Parsippany, New Jersey, in the year 2017, after having worked there as a salesperson for the preceding 30 years.
He was able to work there for such a long time because he was a senior employee. During that time, he was prosperous in sales and won a number of awards in recognition of his achievements.
Mr. Gessner was a model soldier in the United States Army during the latter half of the 1950s decade. He served his country with distinction. He gave his whole heart and soul to his wife and children, and he lived for the thrill of trying new things. The island of Aruba and the state of Maine were both high on his list of potential vacation spots. In the year 2016, POAC Autism Services presented him with the POAC Humanitarian Achievement Award in recognition of his unflinching dedication to serving the community of individuals with autism and addressing their needs. The year 2016 was the year that this accolade was presented to the recipient.
Before he left, both of his parents as well as his younger brother, Lawrence K. Gessner, had already left. He was the Gessner brother who was the youngest at the time. Those who are still with us today include his wife Ruth (Naroskie) Gessner, two daughters – Susan Osborn (John) of Dunellen and Sandra Gessner of Toms River, as well as his son Robert L.
