Robert Gifford Obituary, Death – Robert Gifford of Ontario, CN, reportedly died. At the time of his demise on October 20, 2012, Mr. Robert Gifford was accompanied by his children. He had reached the age of 89 when he passed away. He entered our planet on April 8th, 1923, making his debut here. Both of his parents, Harry Gifford and Anna Ralbovsky Gifford, had already passed away prior to the time that he was born. His wedding to Virginia Klempa took place on July 26, 1952. The ceremony proceeded as planned. The 3rd of December in 2008 was the day she passed away. At that point in time, they had been married for a combined total of 56 years. Robert is one of the co-owners of the Gloversville location of Fulton County Glass, Inc., which he has been for the past 42 years.
In Johnstown, Pennsylvania, in the old Saint Anthony’s Church, where he had been a member all of his life, he worked as a Eucharistic Minister for a good number of years. He had been a member of that church since birth. Furthermore, the Knights of Columbus in Johnstown counted him as a member of the third degree in their organization. During the winter months, Robert and his wife established their home in Deland, Florida, and during the summer months, they spent much of their time at their camp on the Great Sacandaga Lake near Mayfield, New York. He volunteered for a large amount of time with the organization that delivers meals to the elderly and homebound.
His three children, Carol Goodman Doug of Ontario, New York, John Gifford Debbie of Ballston Spa, New York, and Christopher Gifford Elaine of Red Hook, New York, are among those who will carry on his legacy. He is also survived by his twin brother, William Gifford Virginia of Venice, Florida; his sister, Marlene Frasier of Gloversville; and his five grandchildren, Brett Hawn, Ryan Gifford, Matthew Gifford, Catherine Williams, and Rachel Gifford. In addition, he is survived by his twin brother, Irma Ralbovsky, his aunt from Johnstown, and a number of nieces, nephews, and acquaintances from Woodlawn Commons in Saratoga Springs, where he had been living for the past few years. All of these people are still alive. He had been living there for the past few years.
R. Mark Gifford, Robert Gifford’s son, along with two of his brothers and one of his sisters, Richard Gifford and Annamarie Reed, all died before Robert Gifford did. There will be a get-together beginning at four in the afternoon and continuing until seven o’clock in the evening. On Wednesday, the 23rd of October, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11 o’clock in the morning. This will take place on a Wednesday.
