Rose Otis Obituary, Death – Rose Otis, who served as the first Women’s Ministries director for the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, passed away on the seventh of January, 2023, and the family of the Texas Conference is heartbroken to learn of her passing. She was laid to rest on the Sabbath.
She broke new ground by being the first woman to hold the position of vice president for the Seventh-day Adventists of Texas Conference. During the time that she was serving as a delegate at the General Conference, the Seventh-day Adventist Church Women’s Ministries devotional book series was launched, and our Texas Adventist Book Center in Keene offers the women’s devotionals on an annual basis.
“We worked on several initiatives together when I was pastoring in Houston,” Elton DeMoraes, President of the Texas Conference, recounted. “She was very organized, an outstanding speaker, and passionate about evangelism.”
During this difficult time, we want her family and husband, Harold “Bud” Otis Jr., to know that we are thinking about them and offering our condolences and prayers. We are grateful that she will only be sleeping until Jesus arrives.
