Roy Smith Obituary, Death – Roy Smith, who had been residing in Clarkson, Kentucky up until the time of his passing on January 19, 2023, was a patient at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. He had 69 years under his belt. He was brought into this world by his parents, the late Paul Smith, Jr. and Nora Lee Hood Smith, on August 16, 1953 in the town of Monterey, Tennessee, in the United States of America. They have not been seen or heard from since.
After working as a technician for Kmart in Louisville for a number of years up until the time of his retirement, he eventually parted ways with the company. In his leisure time, he enjoyed working with wood and creating a variety of items out of it. This brought him a great deal of enjoyment. During the time that he spent at both of these churches, the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and the Sulphur Wells “Snap” Missionary Baptist Church were both able to list him as an active member of their congregations.
In addition to that, he served on the board of directors for the Sons of the American Legion, which is more commonly referred to as SAL. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by both of his brothers and one of his sisters. He also died before he was born. Along with his grandparents, his great-grandparents were removed from this earth before he was even born.
Roy is survived by his wife, Carol Elliott Smith; two daughters, Tonya Cockerel (John) of Leitchfield and Tammy Oldham (Trenton) of Upton; four grandchildren, Lillian Cockerel, Schyler, Marie, and Ruby Oldham; a brother, Paul Smith (Donna) of Georgia; and two sisters, Mary Ann Broom (Kevin) of South Carolina and Evelyn Yeager of Georgia. Also surviving are a brother, Paul Smith (Donna In addition to this, Paul Smith, Donna’s brother, was able to survive. In addition, Roy’s brother Paul Smith will carry on his legacy after his passing. (
