Ruthie Wagner Death – It is with a heavy heart that I must inform each and every one of you that our beloved Ruthie Martinez Wagner (1983), has been summoned to her heavenly home. Everyone who knew her will mourn her passing very deeply. After completing her education, Ruthie wed the man who would become the love of her life, Michael Wagner, and settled down in the capital of the state of California.
On Friday, September 5, 2014, Ruthie A. Martinez, age 29 and a resident of Billings, Montana, passed away to be with those she loved in heaven. Ruthie, also known as Greasy Mouth, was a member of the Piegan tribe and a youngster. At the annual Crow Fair celebration, she never failed to look forward to catching up with old acquaintances and members of her own family.
She was born in Billings and went to Awanis Christian courses up through the sixth grade. She was baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where she also attended church services throughout her childhood. The Weber Basin High School in the state of Utah is where she completed her secondary schooling. She continued her studies at Montana State University in Billings, where she earned a certification in the culinary arts, and then moved on to pursue her career. She spent the majority of her professional life working in the hospitality sector in various capacities.
Ruthie’s birth mother Laurie A. Doney and her adoptive mother Betty Martinez, her grandmother Ruth M. Gardner Lira, her grandfather Warren Doney, and her great-grandparents Priscilla Stewart Gardner, Issac (Mary Agnes) Shane, Donald (Olive) Stewart Sr., James and Lorrane Doney, as well as her uncles Carl Dean Crooked Arm and Marc Lira have all passed away before her. Ruthie is survived by her companion of eight years, Nathan Simonson, and her three children, Selina, Adrian, and Kassandra (Kassie) Martinez; her father, Robert Martinez; her brother Robert (Elcha) Martinez; adopted brothers Adrian, Angelo, and Antonio; sister Laura Gomez; adopted sisters Priscilla Clubfoot, Tonitta, and Tanisha; and Ruthie’s aunts and uncles, Berdina (Bill) Stops, Stewart
Families such as the Stewarts, Shanes, Gardners, White Clays, Laforges, Big Lakes, Spotted Horses, Old Crows, Yellowtails, Wagners, Diggs, Martinezs, Doneys, Simonsons, Hunts, and Garcias are members of the extended family. Due to the size of her extended family, we apologize to everyone we may have neglected to express our condolences to during this difficult time.
At the Bullis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 9, you are invited to attend the funeral services for the deceased. The funeral service will then proceed to the Fairview Cemetery for the interment. It has been decided that the arrangements will be handled by Bullis Mortuary.
