Tkeyah Laplante Obituary, Death – HERKIMER, NY – Tkeyah Laplante of Utica, New York, has died after fatally stabbed in Mohawk by Taylor E. Goodhines on Wednesday, January 4, 2022. According to State Police report, Tkeyah Laplante was pronounced dead from her injuries on Friday evening.
Twenty six-year-old Tkeyah Laplante was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center right after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday when emergency workers arrived at the apartment complex at 30 East Main Street. The police say that she was stabbed several times in the chest.
Taylor Goodhines, who is 21 years old, has been charged with trying to kill someone, assault, and illegally having a gun. Charges for upgrades are still to come.
Joseph Malone, who is the chief of police in Mohawk, told NEWSChannel 2 that after the crime, several witnesses were questioned.
Police think that the stabbing happened in the apartment in the front of the building with several units. They also say that Goodhines lives nearby at 70 East Main Street.
Goodhines is being kept in the Herkimer County jail on $150,000 cash bail or a $300,000 bond.

With great sadness and a heavy heart, we have to tell you that Tkeyah Laplante died suddenly and tragically on January 4, 2023. She was killed in a violent act. Tkeyah was a daughter, a sister, a niece, and a mother. She had three beautiful children.
With all the emotional pain and stress that death brings, it can also be a financial burden. Since Tkeyah was a single mother, we would like to raise money for her and her family to help with any costs. All of the money will go straight to her children.
